Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Description
Direct overall financial activities across the group and advice the GMD/Board on global financial & strategic objective of the Group
Provide strategic recommendations to the Management based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification, allocation and income/expense
Participate in strategic planning process as an integral member of the senior management team
Establishing guidelines for annual & periodic budgets. Oversee budgeting and the implementation of budgets.
Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with Group strategic plan
Monitor the use of all funds to ensure it is in accordance with budgetary goals.
Assess Organizational performance against the budget and long-term strategic objectives
Ensure that finance staff maintains financial record systems in accordance with globally accepted Accounting Principles.
Oversee complete Finance and Accounts activities, monthly financial consolidation, Budgeting, Risk Management, internal Control and Corporate Functions at the Group Level.
Develop, monitor and evaluate overall corporate strategy with top management and managers of business units with emphasis on profitability, capital investment, good corporate governance to enhancing group corporate value.
Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information and provide strategic recommendation to the Management and the Board of Directors
Develop and implement effective cost allocation methodologies, ensuring accurate assessment of profitability across different business units and subsidiaries.
Manage capital needs of the Group, ensuring the efficient use of capital expenditure, providing recommendation on best ways to improve efficiency and accountability in relations to all CAPEX and
Working Capital & Cash Flow Management: Supervise daily Financial and Accounting activities to ensure that Standard Operating Procedures are strictly followed by all units.
Balancing short-term financial concerns and pressures, such as managing cash flow/ liquidity, profitability, in line with long-term vision and sustainable organizational success.
Ensuring effective compliance / control and responding to regulatory developments, including financial reporting, capital requirements, and corporate responsibility.
Sharing strategic leadership responsibilities with other senior management team and ensuring the finance/account function supports the business at a strategic and operational level
Analyze investment decisions and advice on most profitable investment options.
Assuring legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitoring compliance with laws and regulations .
Set up and oversee the company’s Finance IT system.
Provide projects financing and negotiate investment loans from banks
Oversee company Risk Management system
Manage all company subsidiary accounting.
Interface with external bodies on financial matters -- FIRS, BIRS, external auditor, etc.
Academic / Professional Requirements
MBA / MSc in Finance
ICAN. ACCA mandatory
10+ years of experience in accounting, with at least five (5) years of experience as a CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER ( CFO)
Good accounting regulatory and software knowledge
