Logistics (Import Manager)
Location: Mainland, Lagos state

Responsibilities
Manage inventory levels to ensure the availability of materials to meet planned and unplanned
production targets.
Prepare monthly/quarterly/yearly materials requirement plan for both factories as per sales
budget and production machine capacities.
Coordinate international procurement activities with proper documentation in line with
applicable laws and guidelines.
Liaise with developed suppliers throughout the registration process and maintain records of
supplier registration package.
Forward material volume allocation and communicate delivery timeline to suppliers.
Obtain approval for PFIs and follow through to prepare Form M & other documentation,
applications, and reporting.
Apply for and speed up Letters of Credits (LCs) and transmit to suppliers to coordinate
shipping arrangement as well as obtaining shipping documents and follow through with clearing
agents for prompt delivery.
Prepare weekly Import pending reports to show clear visibility of shipments and proposed action plans.
Manage the opening of Form M to clearing of goods.
Verify original bill of lading prior release, scrutinize customs documents, attend to clients internally on cargo release matter and final cargo release
Coordinate and resolve matter whenever issue arises to enable smooth release of cargo
Represent the organization at stakeholders meetings with the Nigerian customs services - on importation procedures and regulations, unclaimed containers in the port, etc.
Requirements
HND /BSc in Shipping, Maritime, Business or a related field
5 - 7 years proven experience within the Shipping industry
Be familiar with CBN rules, regulations, and other applicable agencies' provision; SONCAP, NAFDAC, NDLEA, CUSTOM, etc.
Previous work experience with Foreign Employers is an added advantage
Good knowledge of Form M and import processes
Strong managerial skill and good teamwork
Proactive with great attention to details
Good computer knowledge (tech savvy) and demonstrable knowledge of MS-Office Outlook, Excel, and Word.
